The Budget Analyst VI advises in organizational financial planning and strategy. Understands complex financial systems, regulatory landscapes, and economic factors influencing budgeting and resource management. Drives strategic financial innovation and influences high-stakes decision-making processes at the highest organizational levels.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment and property.  

  • Expert analytical skills to review financial data, identify trends and make accurate projections. 

  • Advanced understanding of budgeting principles and practices. 

  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy. 

  • Proficient in using financial software, spreadsheets and other tools. 

  • Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and related systems.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Acts as a strategic partner to senior executive leadership, contributes to the development and execution of corporate strategy through financial planning. 

  • Leads enterprise-wide budgeting efforts, ensures comprehensive alignment with organizational mission and strategic priorities. 

  • Provide comprehensive support for federal budget processes, including financial management, planning, analysis, execution, and reporting. Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with budget preparation, formulation, execution, analysis, and reporting under government oversight.

  • Allocate funding and tracking expenditures.

  • Maintain financial and real property systems of record; prepare funding requirements and routine financial reports.

  • Support spend plan and rent plan management using SAP, Business Warehouse, TRIRIGA, and other systems.

  • Identify and implement best practices for financial process improvement and knowledge management.

  • Develop and update spend plans and financial documentation in SharePoint and related platforms.

  • Conduct spending analysis and recommend efficiency improvements.

  • Prepare required reports for Congress, DHS, CBP, and other stakeholders.

  • Support Exhibit 54 and GSA space budget justification processes.

  • Provide financial analysis and reporting for SAP transactions, invoicing purchase requests, and related financial taskers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor’s degree is required with a minimum of fifteen or more (15+) years of relevant business analysis experience.

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic
